If you are building a web or mobile application that is expected to be used in more than one language, sooner or later you will face localization problem. There are many solutions used when it comes to this issue, but I want to talk about lokalise, which provides almost all of the features needed by developers working on multi-language projects.

Here’s the story of how we got started. We were building fizy, an app for music lovers at Turkcell and I was working as a Product Owner at mobile team. Translations for iOS and Android applications began separately so there were two different independent world. This situation making it very difficult to add new words or update existing ones. It even made it impossible to add a new language. So when I was looking for a solution that would combine these two separate worlds, I found lokalise. I’m not exaggerating when I say that combining these two translation files saved our life and I think my feelings started here :) We are glad that lokalise solved our problem, but we haven’t started using it yet. Later, when we needed plurals support for iOS and live sdk feature, and we switched to that tool at the point. We have been using this product for 3 years.

The prices are expensive compared to its competitors and it might be not be preferred for individual developers, but it can be definitely a great choice for companies.
